Something for Everyone: Twin Pines Orchards & Cider House

If you are looking for an experience that engages all the senses, Twin Pines Orchards & Cider House offers a wide variety of options to soothe or stimulate the senses.

Take a walk among the aromatic apple trees or hike the trails. Pick apples in the fall to take home, or buy a pie. Browse the two-floor shop and enjoy the boutique restaurant and bar. Relax with an award-winning cider and listen to live music. “There is something for everyone,” says Mackenzie Vanneste, store manager at the family-centric venue.

The Vansteenkiste family has operated the scenic 50-acre Lambton Shores farm since Joe and Alma began in the late 1970s with a focus on heritage and education. Their sons Mark and Mike, both trained in European and English-style cider making, continue the focus on caring for the land. A designated Integrated Pest Management orchard, they spot-treat with as little pesticide as possible. Twin Pines ciders have won more than 100 awards in competitions, including International Cider Maker of the Year in 2022 and 2023 — a rare accolade for a North American cidery. “The bar is lined with bottles that have won awards,” says Vanneste.

Offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties, combined with the food and atmosphere, Twin Pines has developed a large following of regulars. “They come for the amazing award-winning ciders, and it feels like home here,” says Vanneste. “We try to make everyone feel part of the family.”

Apple Fest is held the last full weekend of September. Weddings are held in the pavilion. Vanneste recommends planning a two- to three-hour visit in the summer and fall. “There is so much to do — the trails, garden, orchard, cornhole board and live music. There is something for kids, teens, young adults and adults. Come and spend some time.”
