Niche Boutique owner Alexandra Elliott
Alexandra Elliott is living her creative joy as the owner of Niche Boutique, an online shop with collections of beautiful apparel, accessories, handbags, jewelry and other items for self and home. With a background in art history and curatorial studies from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto and the experience of working in the fashion industry, Elliott launched her boutique in late 2020. She created her own website and then curated her inventory focused on Canadian products made by women and founded on the values of authenticity, community and kindness.
Elliott is passionate about supporting female entrepreneurs, and she fosters a community built on empowering them. “There are so many talented women, and I love to showcase their beautiful products,” she says. “We all need to support each other.” Elliott also sells curated gift baskets throughout the year, and they are among her most popular items. “The customer will email or call with a price range, and they trust I will put something nice together.”

Based in Stratford, Niche Boutique provides free local delivery to customers in the London and Stratford region as well as free shipping on any purchases over $150. Elliott also offers some of her items in the Closet Collective, located on Ontario Street in Stratford, where different individuals sell their fashion products under one roof. Her dream is to eventually open her own storefront in that city.
Celebrating Canadian fashion
As we transition to the fall and winter seasons, Elliott carries an accessory line of fur hats, toques, earmuffs, scarves, gloves, cashmere wraps and more by Mitchie’s Matchings, based in Montreal. “They have vibrant colours, and they definitely make a statement.”
She’s planning a Sip and Shop in London for the upcoming holiday season. “I’ll set up shop at a location. We will sip some wine, have some snacks, and have some good conversation.
